Learning Objectives

Following completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Identify physical, cognitive, and sensory factors that impact driving safety and readiness.

  • Describe the role of occupational therapists in evaluating driver readiness and collaborating with physicians and Certified Driving Rehabilitation Specialists (CDRS).

  • Apply clinical assessments and simulator-based tools to evaluate driving-related skills and safety.

  • Recognize DMV policies, adaptive equipment options, and strategies for addressing difficult conversations about driving safety.

Course Requirements

This online course is designed for allied health professionals (e.g., OT/OTA, PT/PTA, SLP, etc.). To participate in this course and receive credit, the participant must be a licensed clinician, complete the content of the course in its entirety, score ≥80% on the post-course assessment, and complete the course evaluation. Completion of this course will reward the participant specified contact hour(s)
